Undergraduate - 2015-Present

EXCITING NEWS: In June 2016, Hans will be traveling to Scripps Florida for the summer as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship awardee! Way to go Hans!

Hans comes to the Slade Lab as the recipient of a prestigious Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from the Fralin Life Sciences Instititute here at Virginia Tech, and his professional goal is to continue with academic research in infectious diseases upon graduation. Hans' scientific interest was sparked as a child by examining how different species of insects interact with both their own, and foreign species. Hans is a native of Southern New Jersey, a Philadelphia sports fanatic, and a rabid Arsenal fan. We are excited to have Hans for the summer and beyond where he has begun working on the structure and function of uncharacterized outer membrane proteins in Fusobacterium nucleatum.
